Here the students have to study various engineering materials, significance and classification and study of various crystal structures and models. They also have to study effect of carbon percentage on hardness of steel, phase diagram, phase rule, and various types of fractures (ductile/brittle). These all are important to build up a sound knowledge of subject to a mechanical engineering student. We are having metallurgical polishing machine to prepare the specimen for testing and metallurgical microscopes to study their crystal structures.
